Emma James

Journalist / Radio Producer / Copywriter

I’m a fast, efficient and accurate journalist, radio and content producer and copywriter, happy to be thrown into any subject. I’ve covered stories ranging from elections to the prostitutes in mining communities to international conflicts, and always enjoy learning something new.

With six years experience working in busy news rooms and radio stations, I thrive in high pressure environments and always meet deadlines no matter how tight they are. People often comment on how calm I remain in stressful situations.

Experienced covering emergencies, I was a part of the award winning BBC Radio Norfolk News team covering floods in the English county of Norfolk in 2013.

On the side of this I’ve also worked on website content production, fundraising campaigns and advocacy videos. A different challenge to a newsroom, but one that has a creative side to it which I really enjoy.

A strong champion of human rights and poverty eradication I am drawn to stories focused on issues and efforts in these areas.

Available for freelance work in the areas of copywritng, journalism, radio production and video production, don’t be shy to get in touch to chat about my availability and rates.

Fun facts: I love cooking, travelling, taking photos and playing the piano.
